This wedding was the wedding of not just a customer but my beautiful cousin and her fabulous new husband, the lovely Victoria & Jake who got married at Red Hall Hotel which is situated just minutes from my home in Bury, it was right in the middle of wedding season the sun was shining on that warm August day.
Victoria & Jake have been together for 10 year they met on their way to college at the bus stop! Childhood sweethearts is how I would describe this gorgeous couple.
Jake was such a romantic he took them to Morocco and had the hotel suite decorated with rose petals and champagne. They returned from the pool to where the magic had happened, this had been long awaited for Victoria and had actually become a bit of a running joke about when Jake was going to propose but he did it perfectly even if Victoria was still in her swimming costume!
As soon as they were back from Morocco there was no time to waste, and they had their stunning venue, photographer and everything else booked in no time. Just 6 days from landing The Red Hall Hotel was to be where their big day would happen.
The Dress
Victoria & her mum went wedding dress shopping together, her mum she was getting stressed that she still hadn’t found her perfect dress. Victoria was shedding the pounds in a bid to look amazing on her wedding day (and she really did!)
It was six months before the wedding and she still hadn’t picked one so you can understand why mum was starting to worry but she needn't have worried because they went into the shop and her dress was right there on display.
Victoria just knew it was the one- She didn’t even bother try any others on! It was a lace top with a silk skirt, everything she had pictured for her fairy tale wedding.
The venue – Red Hall Hotel
The Red Hall Hotel is a beautiful building reopened in 2009 the ‘new’ Red Hall Hotel officially opened by Sir Alex Ferguson and is located in Bury in the heart of the North West, UK.
It’s a beautiful place to host weddings, christening and more.
This gorgeous couple had looked at a couple of venues in the Bury area but when they walked into the Red Hall they knew straight away it was where they wanted to hold their wedding – They wanted something modern and not too far for elderly relatives to travel to and
they were able to have their wedding ceremony & reception all in the same place.
Would they recommend the venue ? "I would- the staff were amazing and the hotel itself was gorgeous."
The day started off with bridal prep at The Red Hall princess suite with makeup artist and hairdresser Emily Simpson and the fabulous make up artist Armand Beasley.
What a beautiful room the princess suite was, and OMG the bath was amazing, I was ready to book it myself, it was a very relaxed morning of bride & bridesmaids getting hair and make up done, lots of fun, laughter and surprise gifts.
Victoria's favourite part of the day was Walking down the aisle to Jake with her dad and Grandad by her side. Their wedding was so personal to them and their them was DIY- they made most of the decorations themselves which were then auctioned off for charity afterwards, what a beautiful gesture.
what bits of the wedding planning did you love ? "I loved making the invites and decorations myself"
What's one piece of advice you would give to other couples planning their own wedding?
Do what makes you both happy- including the seating plan!
I asked them both how was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day?
Their reply was "You were fantastic. All the guests were so relaxed around you. From advising me what to do next and calming my nerves. We love our photographs and we especially love our video. "
Thank you so much to Victoria & Jake for choosing me to capture their amazing day. Check out some images below of how their day went & I wish you two the best!
